UNCPGA Members participated in the 2025 JINJU International Forum on Entrepreneurship, October 2025
On October 27, 2025, in JINJU, South Korea, the UNCPGA and the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) held a special session to emphasize human-centered innovation and job creation as essential pathways for global cooperation. H.E. Dr. Han Seung Soo, UNCPGA Chairman and President of the UNGA 56th Session; Dr. Jehangir Khan, Secretary General of the UNCPGA; H.E. Jan Kavan, UNCPGA Vice Chairman and President of the UNGA 57th Session; and H.E. Csaba Kőrösi, President of the UNGA 77th Session, attended the conference on behalf of the Council.

UNCPGA Secretary General Dr. Jehangir Khan hosted a working dinner attended by members of the UNCPGA and Club de Madrid, along with distinguished ambassadors including H.E. Ambassador Staffan de Mistura, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, H.E. Ambassador Geir Pedersen, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Syria and H.E. Ambassador Fareed Yassin, Special Envoy of the President of Iraq.

UNCPGA Dinner hosted by UNCPGA Chairman H.E. Dr Han Seung Soo in honour of the President of the UN General Assembly H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, in New York on September 20, 2025, following the adoption of the ‘’UN80 Declaration. The dinner was attended by the current PGA, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, nine Presidents of the UNGA, along with distinguished diplomats and the UNCPGA Secretariat. The Council congratulated H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock on her resumption of the Presidency of the historic 80th UN General Assembly Session and pledged its full support for her leadership.

Annual UNCPGA Meeting in New York, September 2025
UNCPGA convened its annual meeting in New York on September 20, 2025, hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea under the Chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Han Seung-soo, Chairperson of the UNCPGA and the President of the 56th Session of the UNGA. The meeting was attended by nine Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting adopted the “UN80 Declaration,” calling for UN reform efforts to focus on how the Organization can best address the multifaceted peace and security challenges of the 21st century more systematically and effectively, marking the historic 80th anniversary of the United Nations.

Working Luncheon of the UNCPGA Group of Friends of the President of the UN General Assembly on July 16, 2025
On July 16, 2025, Working Luncheon of the UNCPGA Group of Friends of the President of the UN General Assembly hosted by the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the UN, H.E. Ambassador Abdulaziz Alwasil and the Secretary General of UNCPGA, Dr. Jehangir Khan. The luncheon was attended by the new PGA elect, H.E. Annalena Baerbock, the current PGA, H.E. Philemon Yang, and the previous PGA, H.E. Dennis Francis together with 22 Ambassadors of the former PGA member states who constitute this UNCPGA Group of Friends. This was the first time that all 3 succeeding Presidents of the UN General Assembly met together under the auspices of the UNCPGA Group of Friends, to share experiences and discuss the transition between successive PGAs.

On July 9, 2025, UNCPGA Chairman H.E Dr. Han Seung Soo, met with the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the UN, H.E.Ambassador Abdulaziz Alwasil and thanked him for his valuable support as Chair of the “UNCPGA Group of Friends of the President of the UN General Assembly” composed of the 25 Ambassadors of the former PGA member states. The meeting was also attended by former Presidents of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Dr. Jan Kavan and H.E. Ambassador Dennis Francis together with the Secretary General of UNCPGA Dr. Jehangir Khan.

UNCPGA Secretary General Dr. Jehangir Khan met with H.E. Ambassador Mathu Joyini, Permanent Representative of South Africa to the UN and H.E. The UNCPGA Group of Friends of the President of the United Nations General Assembly held a working luncheon in April 2025 with H.E. Philemon Yang, President of the 79th General Assembly and a core group of UN Ambassadors.
Annual UNCPGA Meeting in Bratislava, Slovak Republic, April 2025
The UNCPGA convened its annual meeting in Bratislava on 8-9 April 2025 which was hosted by the Slovak Republic. Both H.E. Mr. Peter Pellegrini, President of the Slovak Republic and H.E. Dr. Robert Fico, Prime Minister, received Council Members. The meeting adopted the “Bratislava Declaration” calling for the urgent strengthening of multilateral cooperation through the United Nations.

UNCPGA Secretary-General Dr. Jehangir Khan met with the newly elected President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Prime Minister Philemon Yang of Cameroon. President Yang expressed great appreciation for the support of UNCGPA, particularly with regard to the 2024 UN Summit of the Future and High-Level Session of the 79th UN General Assembly. He will deliver the opening address for UNCPGA's meeting on the UN Summit of the Future on September 21.

Annual UNCPGA Meeting in Seoul, Republic of Korea, October 2023
The UNCPGA convened its annual meeting in Seoul in October 2023. In attendance were ten former presidents, as well as President Dennis Francis. Council members paid historic visits to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the Presidential Palace, and former UN Secretary-General H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon.
